Yes, there are limitations. At this time, we are considering the Acute Care Facilities listed on the Healthcare Association of Hawaii’s website, and police, fire and ambulance emergency response departments. The Keep Hawaii Cooking Story
On Friday, March 27, 2020, Central Pacific Bank and the Central Pacific Bank Foundation launched the #KeepHawaiiCooking initiative with the goal of supporting local restaurants, their employees and the community during this time of economic hardship caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The CPB Foundation committed to reimbursing 50 percent of the cost of takeout or delivery meals purchased from participating local restaurants up to $100,000 total.
In just three days, #KeepHawaiiCooking became a viral phenomenon on Hawaii social media, exceeding all expectations, and easily reached its $100,000 goal.
Recognizing the astounding success and the continued need for the program, CPB Foundation re-upped on their donation, and a new goal of sharing 10,000 meals was announced – a goal that was achieved in three days.
All told, the first two phases of #KeepHawaiiCooking resulted in at least 10,400 meals shared, which translated into $615,000 to local restaurants. Local diners were reimbursed almost $310,000 from the CPB Foundation.
But #KeepHawaiiCooking was never meant to be just another flash in the pan (pun intended.) Help keep the movement going by nominating a heroic hospital employee or first responder that is on the frontlines of the fight against the coronavirus. Selected nominees and their teams will receive up to 30 free Mahalo Meals in gratitude for their life-saving work.
We hope you will participate by nominating a hospital worker or emergency first responder for #KeepHawaiiCooking Mahalo Meals. And please help us share the #KeepHawaiiCooking story on your social channels.

Central Pacific Bank and the Central Pacific Bank Foundation want to support local businesses and Hawaii residents working to make it through the coronavirus crisis. We hope that by making this donation through the #KeepHawaiiCooking program, we can encourage others to find concrete ways to help as we lean on each other to get through this together.
#KeepHawaiiCooking is just one of the things Central Pacific Bank and the Central Pacific Bank Foundation are doing to help CPB customers and the overall community. We’re waiving fees on some services, making it easier to use CPB mobile and online banking tools and encouraging all of our customers – business and consumers – to reach out to us if you are having problems paying loans or your mortgage. Please consult our website www.cpb.bank/covid-19 to get the most updated information and find out who you can call for help.
